At least one civilian was killed and others were injured in Somalia on Wednesday by mortar shells that were likely targeting the Presidential palace in the capital, Mogadishu.
According to residents, one of the mortar shells hit the victim’s house in neighborhoods near the Presidential Palace.
No group has claimed responsibility for the mortar attack, but al-Shabaab militants typically claim such attacks.
The attack occurred a day after the Somali National Army conducted military operations in a forest near the town of Caad in the province of Mudug, resulting in the reported death of at least 80 al-Shabaab terrorists, as stated by Brig. Gen. Dayah Abdi Abdulle.
